Credit Unions Voted Number 1 for Customer Experience
Credit Unions Top the Customer Experience Ranks for a Record Breaking Eleventh Year
For an incredible eleven years, credit unions are named the undisputed champions in Ireland for Customer Experience
For a record-breaking 11th year, credit unions have topped the league table for best customer experience in Ireland, according to the 2026 Customer Experience Insight (CXi) Report. Furthermore, credit unions are also the only brand to have maintained a constant presence in the top ten since the survey began, a testament to the consistency of their CX excellence, extending a feat unmatched in any CX league table globally.
Credit unions achieved an impressive overall Customer Experience (CX) score of 8.16 out of 10, reflecting the quality of the experience they deliver to members. In an increasingly automated world, credit unions offer a genuine personal experience with modern digital services, giving members the flexibility to engage however they choose. This commitment to understanding members as people, not transactions aided credit unions in being the only brand to score above 8, the benchmark for CX Excellence.
Ultan Ryan (CEO) of Carlow Credit Union stated,
“Winning the CXi award for the 11th time is an amazing achievement. We are proud of the values and ethos we have here at XX Credit Union and of the unrivalled service that we offer to our members. We would like to say a heartfelt thanks to all our valued members for their continued loyalty and support”.
Commenting on the announcement, David Malone, CEO, Irish League of credit unions says this remarkable achievement is down to the strong relationships credit unions have built with their members and local communities over many years, as well as the dedication of staff and directors across the movement.
"The real strength of the credit union model is that members remain at the centre of everything we do. Whether it's introducing new services or supporting people through important life moments, the focus is always on helping members and serving communities.”
"As people's needs and expectations continue to change, credit unions have embraced new technology and new services without losing the personal touch and community focus that members value so highly."
The CXi Survey was conducted by Amárach Research and ran from the 8th June to the 31st July 2026. A representative cross section of Irish consumers was asked to give feedback on their experiences with 170+ organisations across 11 sectors.
