NEW SCAM ALERT - BE FRAUD AWARE

Notice to members

The Irish League of Credit Union's (ILCU) has today been made aware of an “advanced fee fraud” scam that is currently circulating.

The scam involves a member receiving a Whatsapp call, purporting to be from the 'Credit Union', requesting the following;

• Payments to be made by the member in order to release a loan/ funds.
• The member’s PPS number

Please be cautious of calls from numbers such as 083 813 1978, 083 859 0918 and other numbers & unknown numbers may also be involved.

Your Credit Union will never contact you through WhatsApp to request payments or personal details. If you receive a suspicious call, do not engage.

If you are in doubt about a message or phone call in relation to your Credit Union account, always contact us directly and talk to a member of staff about the query.
