School Quiz a Huge Success!
20 teams from 10 different schools across both Carlow and Laois battled it out to be crowned this year’s Carlow Credit Union School Quiz Champions. In the end, Bishop Foley Carlow were crowned champions in the under 13 category while St Fiaccs National School finished 1st place in the under 11s category.
Questions on the day covered a wide range of topics including geography, history, music, literature, and sport. There was very little separating some of the teams with a tie breaker needed for the under 13s, which was tightly contested between Bishop Foley and eventual runners up Ballinabranna National School.
The winning teams from Bishop Foley and St. Fiaccs will now progress to Stage 2 (Regional Level), organised by the Credit Union Chapter. Winners and runners-up from Stage 2 will then qualify for the National Final on Sunday 7th April 2024 and compete against schools all around Ireland for a top prize of €4,000!
